Will Appleby Award 2019
We're accepting nominations for the Will Appleby Award!
Will was an outstanding member of the youth group of First Presbyterian Church before tragically passing away in an automobile accident in 2001. He made youth group a priority and was an innovative force and loyal friend within the youth community. Will understood the goals and mission of the youth group and encouraged and inspired his fellow youth as well as many adults. In his honor, Will's family generously established this award to recognize other youth who share Will's love and dedication to the community of faith. Any high school youth at First Presbyterian is eligible for nomination--with preference given to seniors. Please click here to access the application. Nominations are due by March 1.

For additional information or to register your child or youth, contact Caryn Overbey ( [email protected] ).
Service Opportunity
HELPS literacy tutoring is now available during Westerly Hills Academy’s afterschool program! Slots are available for one hour per week, Mon-Fri., between 3:30 and 5:30.

Did you know that 3 rd grade reading scores are linked directly to future success? 96% of students reading at grade level in 3 rd grade go on to graduate high school, while those who aren’t at grade level are 4 times more likely to drop out. Only 27% of Westerly Hills’s 3 rd graders were reading at grade level based on last year’s EOG scores, but we can help change that! 12 tutors have been working with students during the school day since November and are seeing tremendous growth already. Come get to know the sweet students at Westerly and help them succeed! You can sign up here.
