Weekly Devotion
“When humility delivers us from attachment to our own works and our own reputation, we discover that perfect joy is possible only when we have completely forgotten ourselves. And it is only when we pay no more attention to our own deeds and our own reputation and our own excellence that we are at last completely free to serve God in perfection for God’s own sake alone.”
-Thomas Merton, New Seeds of Contemplation

What is Resilience? Life is hard. Adversity impacts us all, whether through trauma, tragedy, threats or significant stress. Resilience is the ability to overcome this adversity. To be resilient is to view the world in such a way that you believe that you can handle anything.
Come see how science and spirit intersect in a powerful message of hope and healing in the documentary:
Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope.
This all-church event has a special children's program on emotions and childcare for nursery age.

The City of Charlotte has communicated to us that portions of Trade Street between Tryon and Graham streets will be closed at various times throughout the fall, including intersections at Church, Poplar and Pine streets.
As street construction is a fluid process, there is no way to know from day to day whether a given street or intersection will be open to traffic. Please use your preferred app for navigating traffic or refer to the City’s website if you wish to use Trade Street or those intersections.
Church staff will
not
have the most current information and will
not
be able to map out routes for us.
The church will work to minimize congestion during school drop-off and pick-up hours. It will also step up measures to assure that church parking during this time is reserved for those who are here on church business.
Thank you for your patience over the next few months.
