Hello Youth Services staff -
It's hard to believe it's already April - and Summer Reading is just around the corner!
Carmelita Aragon and I had a great time at the Explora All Together Now - With Magnets program in March meeting library staff and learning ways to incorporate magnetism into hands-on programs. Explora is taking the program on the road to Las Cruces on April 28 - I highly encourage nearby library staff to attend! (See below for full details.)
A resource I want to share with you this month is programminglibrarian.org - This site offers hundreds of library program ideas - searchable by budget, age group, and topic - submitted by library staff from around the country, and run by the American Library Association (ALA) Public Programs Office.
Take a look at this month's opportunities - for professional development, grants, presentation proposals and more. I hope to see folks at our Youth Services meeting on April 21st.
~Kelly

CSLP and Summer Reading
The CSLP Manual is available online - https://www.cslpreads.org/2023-all-together-now/
If you need the access code, email Kelly. You can also access the manuals from 2020, 2021, and 2022 if you want to look back to event ideas from previous years.
CSLP Tutorial on Niche Academy:
The CSLP Niche Academy course is a holding spot for all things CSLP - find all the videos from the symposium, the Fall Workshop slides, Social Media Toolkit, and New Mexico themed materials.
Summer Reading and Summer Food: Many public libraries also serve as summer food distribution sites - through federal or local programs. The CSLP Community and Child Well-Being Committee has created a toolkit to help libraries begin or grow their programming. See detailed information here.
As you finalize your summer schedules - send them in to Kelly so we can begin planning our summer site visits!
