MAY 2023 NEWSLETTER

Just kidding!

But, it is just around the corner!

See below for some key CSLP links, and please reach out if you need assistance with access to any materials - like the premade social media graphics at left.

I can't wait to visit some of your libraries during this summer's programming. Send me your summer calendars as you complete them.

I had a great time last week visiting Carlsbad Public Library, Artesia Public Library, and Carrizozo Public Library and exploring the engaging youth spaces. Lots of wonderful programming happening!

Land of Enchantment Book Awards

Voting is open until May 15, 2023

Library staff can log votes from their patrons by going to the LOE website and selecting the appropriate category.

Wondering how to participate in the LOE Book Awards at your public library?

Nita Ford from Grants Public Library shared pictures (at right)of the display in her library. She makes ballots using the nominee lists on the LOE website, has the display near the front entrance to the library and promotes voting on the library's Facebook page. Patrons are able to mark their ballot and drop in the box. (Her library doesn't own every book that is nominated - and that's okay! She highlights the ones at Grants - but patrons can vote for any that they have read.) Participation in LOE can be active or passive programming - your choice.

If you want to join LOE voting next year, you can get a sneak peak at the 2023-2024 nominees and start brainstorming ideas!
