A Summer to Remember!
As I traveled around New Mexico this summer I saw busy and vibrant libraries, and library staff that expressed excitement that library programming was back!
It was wonderful to host our two graduate interns, Marley Jameson-Sisneros and Jennifer Chen, and introduce them to the variety of libraries across the state. They chronicled their visits on our website, and if you haven't already, please read about their July visits to: Rio Rancho Public Library, Martha Liebert Public Library. Embudo Valley Library, Taos Public Library, Bosque Farms Public Library, Los Lunas Public Library, and Public Library Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.
A big thank you to all of the library staff that welcomed the interns and shared insights and information about your communities and your libraries. We had some wonderful conversations.
And also big thanks to those who have already completed their library surveys, parent/caregiver surveys, and the performers and programs database. More details about all of that below!
This month also marks the one year anniversary of this YS Newsletter. If you have suggestions about other types of information to include - please let me know!

Above: In addition to traveling to libraries around New Mexico, we tried to make sure our California intern, Jennifer, experienced some local culture. Here, interns Marley and Jennifer have the frito pie from the Five and Dime on the Santa Fe Plaza.
Below: Amy Perry from the International Branch of the Public Library Albuquerque and Bernalillo County shared great feedback about their first year in operation.
