JUNE 2023 NEWSLETTER

SUMMER READING IS HERE!

The planning is finished! I hope you all have a wonderful time with your patrons this summer and enjoy the programs you have put so much time into!

This month will mark one year since I started at the state library. Thanks to everybody for being so welcoming and supportive. I've loved getting out around the state to visit your amazing libraries and can't wait to do more of that this summer - keep sending in your calendars and invitations!

In this issue you'll find two book giveaways, details about CSLP, Summer Reading Surveys, and upcoming opportunities. We're putting the monthly Youth Services meeting on vacation until August. Later this summer you'll get the chance to vote on the slogan for SRP26 - Dinosaurs - and the theme for SRP27.

Have a great June and enjoy being All Together Now!

SRP Surveys for Libraries and

Parents/ Caregivers

DUE August 31, 2023

Remember to keep track of your Summer Reading programs and attendees throughout the summer. The survey gives us state-wide data on programming and participation - vital when we are advocating for library funding.

Libraries that complete the Library Survey will earn a voucher toward SRP24 materials.

Complete the library survey:

  • If you had a summer reading program;
  • If you didn't have a summer reading program;
  • Regardless of what "theme" you used.

Have your patron caregivers complete the Parent/Caregiver Survey for feedback and evaluation. You can share the direct survey link with families, or have a library staff member input the paper surveys.

Online links and printable PDFs can be found in the CSLP Niche Academy course under Surveys. Parent surveys available in English and Spanish.
