Hi Friends!

Last Sunday during Sunday Night Live (SNL), we talked about positive affirmations and then we spent time giving positive affirmations to everyone in the room. Everyone had a jar where we could write and place affirmations for each person and then everyone got to take their jars full of kind words home!

While this activity was just for one night, it was a good reminder that we need to positively affirm each other AND ourselves. It is so easy to get caught in a loop of negativity-- thinking that nothing is going right, not being happy with how we look, thinking we aren't good enough, etc. etc. However, breaking that loop and reminding yourself that you are amazing, you are worthy, and you are loved just the way you are can completely change your outlook on yourself and others.

This week, I challenge you to create some kind of affirmation system in your home. This could be jars with everyone's names on them, post-it notes on everyone's bedroom doors, poster-boards in a playroom--it can be anything. But create the space where you can remind your loved ones how special and loved they are AND a space where you can receive that love from them. It truly can change your days, weeks, and months ahead.

I can't wait to see everyone on Sunday! Enjoy your weekends!

Peace,

Hope

SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE

SNL Service Project:

Making Birthday Kits for The MAC Food Pantry

This Sunday we will be making Birthday Kits for families who visit the MAC Food Pantry! What does this mean? Often times, families who utilize Midtown Assistance Center don't have the opportunity to have special things, like birthday cakes, the way that we do. So we will be making Birthday Kits that will have cake mix, frosting, a pan, candles, and a can of sprite (used as a replacement for eggs and oil.) We will package them up in birthday bags with personalized notes in them!

Below you will find supplies needed if you would like to contribute!

6:00-7:30pm

Supplies Needed:

If you would like to help with supplies, we will need:

  • Boxed cake mixes
  • Frosting containers
  • Candles
  • Disposable cake pans
  • Individual Sprinkle Containers
  • Birthday bags

Sunday Evening Worship Service and Dinner

Sundays beginning April 30, Courtyard hospitality at 5:00 p.m. and Worship at 5:15 p.m. in the Chapel

We invite you to a re-imagined evening worship service in the chapel, where we experience God’s hospitality and love for the world. The service includes beautiful music from a variety of traditions, accompanied by piano and a solo instrumentalist. We’ll share communion together, light candles as a symbol of our prayers, and enjoy a meal together afterwards. The sermon is brief and preached from the floor. The prayers invite your participation. The space is set up like a dinner gathering, in the round.

This is the perfect service to attend before SNL!

Please Save The Date for our 7th Grade Rite 13 ceremony on May 21st at the 9am service. Please also save the date for May 20th for our Rite 13 Rehearsal and Rehearsal Dinner in Ellis Hall at 5pm.

Your family is invited to join us as we celebrate your 7th grader and this milestone in the church. On May 20th, we will enjoy a seated dinner together where we will honor your child and parents will have the opportunity to toast to your child. We are asking each family to provide a ~100 word biography about your child as well as a photo. You can submit both of these using the link below.

If you haven’t been able to make it to many, or any, of our formation classes–that is okay! We still want your 7th grader to participate and your family to be there!

Please RSVP for the rehearsal dinner using the link below.
