Message from the Board -- Scott May

The Mountain continues to thrive — because so many people like you share their talent, time and treasure. Thank you all!

I discovered the Mountain many years ago, and my wife Carolyn and I were married on the deck outside the lodge in 2007. It was a glorious experience and I’ll forever be grateful to The Mountain.

I’m halfway through a 3-year board term, and it’s a gift to serve this beloved place. I am fortunate to serve as the board’s Finance Advisor, and work with Jason on the Planning and Finance Team. And I’m happy to report that The Mountain continues to be debt-free. The board meets onsite at the Mountain 4 weekends per year, plus has monthly Zoom board meetings. This enables the board to stay engaged with The Mountain’s needs and priorities, and provide important governance.

I’m committed to do my part to help ensure The Mountain thrives for generations, as it enables so many youth and adults to live and grow their values. If you are inspired by The Mountain, please get acquainted with the Capital Campaign and The Mountain wish list. And if you feel called, consider applying to join the board. Many hands, hearts, and minds are needed for The Mountain to prosper, and leaning in is one of life’s true rewards.
