A Pathway To Connection
Have you ever caught yourself, while sitting at home one evening watching Netflix, wondering if there were any ways to connect with our community on a meaningful level? Chances are you have and that's ok, because at YouthZone we believe in the benefits of intentional connection. From our family like work environment to our restorative justice circles, we're always making the conscious effort to let our community members know they matter. Even if it's just a simple hello.

If you're interested in learning about ways in which you can get involved with the community, please continue reading.

YouthZone has plenty of opportunities that will get you engaged on a direct level with the wonderful community we all call home.
YouthZone's March Update
This month YouthZone closed the deal on the old library building in Glenwood Springs! We give our thanks to the City of Glenwood Springs, the RE-1 School District, as well as YouthZone's Board of Directors. Without your efforts this wouldn't have become a reality. Here's to another 40+ years of helping our youth Connect and Grow!

YouthZone extends its gratitude to 'The Racing Miles' for their years of support to this community cornerstone!!!

This month YouthZone welcomes aboard two new members to our collaborative High Fidelity Wraparound Team, Katie Weant and Amanda Longhurst. Katie is our Family Meeting Facilitator and Amanda is our Family Support Partner. With support of Garfield County's Inter-agency Oversight Group, our Wraparound Team will be serving families with the highest needs in our County through High Fidelity Wraparound. Kate and Amanda are both housed in our Rifle office, but will be integrated into Garfield RE-2 Schools to help provide seamless access for families needing support. High Fidelity Wraparound is an evidence-based process that helps families with complex needs who are involved in multiple systems by identifying individual strengths, needs, and family culture to achieve a families identified goals. If you would like to learn more about High Fidelity Wraparound, please contact Katie or Amanda at 970-625-3141.

Pals Adult Volunteer
PALS Adult Volunteers
The pals mentoring program connects our youth with community members willing to invest 3 hours of their week, for a full calendar year, to their pal's future.

It's a great way to give back to the community on a personal level and to share your life experience, and skills, with a youth in need of connection.

For information on becoming a teen, or adult, mentor please contact Patty Schaffner

Restorative Justice
Restorative Justice Circles
Restorative justice is a practice in which community members can engage with our neighbors impacted by crime. It allows the offender to realize the impact their actions had on the community in a non punitive way, while still holding the individual accountable.

YouthZone is always looking for volunteers to sit in for the community during these sessions.

If you'd like to be a part of the solution please contact Lisa Sobke

Friday and Saturday Service
Friday and Saturday Service
Saturday services provides an opportunity for our youth to connect with their community in a positive way. Many of our clients find themselves in our offices due to the courts, however this doesn't always have to be the case. YouthZone offers volunteer opportunities open to any youth.

If your child, student, or neighbor is looking for ways in which to give back YouthZone hosts a Saturday service opportunity every first and third Saturday of the month in Glenwood Springs and every second Friday of the month in Rifle.

For more information of getting your child, or someone you know, involved with volunteerism please contact Kenny Hamburg
