Yucca District Weekly News

June 12, 2025

Good afternoon, Yucca residents,

Each year, the Glendale Municipal Water System invites customers to take part in the Lead and Copper Drinking Water Study. We are seeking Glendale Water Customers who live in homes built between 1982 and 1989 to participate in the study. You may receive a phone call from a water services employee asking if you'd like to participate. Participating in the testing is voluntary and free of charge, and you won't be asked to make any purchases. If you choose to participate, you only need to provide a sample of your tap water to the Glendale Water Quality Laboratory between June and September. The City will provide all sample collection items and arrange for contactless delivery and pick-up.

Glendale's water is non-corrosive, and it is not expected to show elevated levels of lead or copper. This monitoring program is one of many city programs designed to ensure that customers have access to high-quality drinking water that complies with all aspects of the Safe Drinking Water Act. Participation in the study helps the City ensure that the water supplied by the Glendale Municipal Water System meets the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements for lead and copper. If you're interested in participating, you can sign up here. If you have any questions, please call the City of Glendale Water Quality Laboratory at 623-930-3897.

RSVP to attend the Summer Yucca District Meeting below! We will be using the System of Care Center once again on Thursday, June 26th, from 6- 8 PM. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about water rates and conservation from Glendale's Water Services Department!

This is a celebratory weekend as Saturday marks the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army! I extend my deepest gratitude to those who have served and those currently serve so that we, the American people, can live with freedom. I encourage you to thank the men and women who protect our nation and fight for us.

Sunday, we celebrate the fathers for their guidance, their hard work, and their terrible jokes! Make sure you show appreciation for the fathers in your life- even if it is simply calling to say "Happy Father's Day".

Have a great weekend,

Dianna Guzman
