Hello Everyone,
Last year, the city of Glendale amended its city code to require short-term rental owners to register their properties with the city. The updated code also includes a nuisance party ordinance that allows police to fine homeowners and renters for the expense of police personnel who respond to parties that disturb neighbors. Any home that is offered for rent for less than 30 days is defined as a vacation or short-term rental. If you are operating a short-term rental, GovOS will mail you a registration letter on behalf of the city of Glendale with instructions for registering your short-term rental. The registration letter will include procedures for creating your account and will include your activation code and the account number you will use to access your property record. To register your home as a short-term rental or for more information, visit www.glendaleaz.com/short-term-rentals.
February and March are very busy months. The weather is usually warming up, making it a great time for events! Events in February include the Downtown Glendale Arts & Culture Fest at Murphy Park, Galentine’s Day in Catlin Court & Old Towne Glendale, the start of Spring Training at Camelback Ranch, and the Chocolate Affaire at the Glendale Civic Center. March will see the return of the LiVE @ Murphy Park concert series each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, more Spring Training games, Glendale Folk & Heritage Festival, and a shred event hosted by Mayor Jerry Weiers and myself. All this information is on the calendars (calendars are updated as events are announced).
Also beginning in February are the City Council budget workshops. In my opinion, this is the single most important responsibility of the Council. The public is always welcome to attend in person or watch live on Glendale Channel 11, Facebook, or YouTube.

The city of Glendale now offers an easy-to-use
online portal for short-term rental applications
The city of Glendale amended its city code in 2022, asking short-term rental owners to register their properties with the city. In addition, Glendale adopted a nuisance party ordinance, allowing police to fine homeowners and renters for the expense of police personnel needed to respond to parties that disturb the peace of the neighborhood.
Owners of vacation and short-term rentals in Glendale are required to provide the city of Glendale with the name and contact information of a person designated as an emergency contact, as well as contact information for the owner(s) responsible for responding to complaints. A vacation or short-term rental is a residential property that is offered for rent for less than 30 days. Under Glendale’s nuisance parties and unlawful gatherings ordinance, property owners are accountable for repeated unruly gatherings or parties. This ordinance applies to all private residences, whether they are long or short-term rentals or owner-occupied.
