In just 2 short days, so much has happened. I know we said we were going to try and stay open, but as more cases are confirmed including ones in local gyms, my concern is growing. Other local studios have decided to close already. Other cities (Denver, Dallas, Los Angeles, Seattle) are mandating closure of gyms and other group establishments like restaurants, bars and theaters. The President also recommended that all gatherings be less than 10 people for areas where community transmission has occurred. We are not there yet, but we have gone from 0 cases to 21 cases in just one week. Plus with the reports of people having NO SYMPTOMS and still spreading the virus, I am concerned that we could be infecting others without even knowing it. It would be irresponsible of me to risk all of our health and potentially contribute to the spread of COVID-19 in our communities just to keep the studio open.

It is with much regret, and a hole in my heart, that I say we are closing temporarily effective 3/18/20. I know that this studio means so much to so many, believe me, this studio has been my dream since 2011 and it is "my baby". Nobody wanted to stay open more than me, but this is the right thing to do. I hope to get the studio back open as soon as the experts say it is safe again. In the meantime, I will be teaching Zumba classes online using Google Hangouts so that we can keep dancing and stay connected that way.

After all, we are a Zumba Family not because of the place we go to but because of the community we are and the bond that we share. We can still be that ZCREW family, just from a safe distance. Sending you all my Zumba love always and hoping we all stay safe, healthy and sanitized in our own homes!
