ZDR3 is Actively Monitoring Two Wildfires

The Ranger Road Fire represents a large, fast-moving, multi-state wildfire impacting rural communities and agricultural operations across the Oklahoma Panhandle and southern border of Kansas.

The Lavender Fire is a regional wildfire threat in the Texas Panhandle with closer proximity to populated areas, transportation corridors, and managed animal facilities.

At this time, no requests for support have been received, but we remain in a heightened readiness posture. Facilities in the area are encouraged to review evacuation triggers, emergency power plans, and staffing contingencies as conditions evolve.

As wildfire conditions continue across the region, ZDR3 encourages potentially impacted facilities to take time for practical preparedness checks, including:

 • Confirming evacuation decision points and transport options

 • Reviewing backup power and water contingencies

 • Ensuring staff communication plans are current

Preparation is about reducing stress before it’s needed, not reacting in the moment. ZDR3 remains available to support preparedness conversations if conditions change.
