GROWING MINDS

Our 3rd and 5th grade students enjoying hands-on, collaborative learning in science.

BUILDING CHARACTER

Student Council members served at Zion's Seniors in Ministry luncheon by carrying plates, serving food and drinks, clearing tables, and talking with our Senior friends. They also helped pack 150 OCC Boxes with our seniors!

CONNECTING HEARTS IN CHRIST

We made some friends with the fire department in our community! They taught us about fire safety in our home and school, took us through EDITH to help practice home exit drills, and let us check out their fire truck. Thank you, Belleville Fire Department!

LOVING GOD & LOVING EACH OTHER

We read John 6:16-21, the story of Jesus walking on the water, and talked about things of which we are sometimes afraid. But God tells us over and over again that we have nothing to fear. He lights up the darkness of fear all around us, protects us, and equips us to take on scary things.

Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences

As our mission statement says, the staff of Zion Lutheran School takes very seriously your child’s academic progress.  To assist in our personal and professional communication and partnership with you in your child’s academic development, we strongly encourage you to take part in the fall conference times offered to you.  Conferences will be held:

Wednesday, November 8th, 4pm-8pm & Thursday, November 9th, 8am-12pm

How do we sign up?

ZLS uses a website called “We Join In” that allows you to choose the day and time that works best for you.  Instructions:

  1. Go to wejoinin.com/zionbelleville
  2. Find and click on the sheet that contains your child’s grade level where you will find your child’s teacher’s name.
  3. Scroll down the column with the teacher’s name and find a row with the time slot that works best for you and is still available.
  4. Enter your name and email address to secure that time slot.  You will receive an email confirmation that contains a cancellation code in the event that you are unable to attend.
  5. If the available dates and times do not work for your family, please use the “Call for Appointment” cells.  The teacher will contact you to schedule.

When do we sign up?

Multi-sibling families: begins Monday, October 30th.

We do this as a courtesy because scheduling multiple, convenient appointments becomes very difficult.

Single child families: begins Wednesday, November 1st.

Teachers will close out and finalize their schedules on Tuesday, November 7th.  Feel free to personally contact your child’s teacher or the school office if you have difficulty and need help scheduling a conference using We Join In.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.  We look forward to seeing you on our campus for fall conferences.

Christ-Centered Parenting: Gospel Conversations on Complex Cultural Issues

Sunday Mornings at 9:30 am

Whether your kids are preschoolers, preteens or young adults, you need to be prepared to help your children navigate the complex cultural issues of our day. This study is designed to help equip you to guide your children through difficult issues such as identity,

pornography, homosexuality, abortion, anxiety, technology and more from a gospel perspective. Give your kids a biblical worldview that will produce the next generation of culture shapers - not simply the next generation shaped by their culture. Come join the conversation in the Alongside Commons (school building). Taught by Kerri Schmid and Ananda Baron.
