The earliest furniture examples were made of brick platforms that were used as tables, chairs and even beds (really?) that were covered with animal skins and textiles for support.--Today, those brick platform beds have evolved into twin coiled, double hybrid memory foam mattresses! - ... and some of us still complain? -LOL

In ancient Egypt, tombs of Pharaohs often contained upholstered couches to make their after-life more comfortable! - I know what you're thinking ... please don't!
