It's been ten years since we developed the first Zucker School of Medicine Strategic Plan (2013-2018) as a roadmap to the future. The original plan highlighted six focus areas or domains. In that first decade, as the school expanded and thrived, those same priorities were upheld in the second and current plan (2019-2024) as crucial to the success of the school’s mission.

Today, we have a lot to be proud of. Our individual and collective efforts have helped us achieve what we set out to do. We have shaped our medical school into an innovative, collaborative, and high-quality educational institution that best prepares medical students to become competent and compassionate physicians.

Strategic Planning Phase 1

Over the past decade, we have seen significant changes in medical education and healthcare. The landscape has evolved, and we need a new strategic plan to carry us through the next phase of our school’s evolution. But before we can map out where we're going, we need to first ask, where are we now?

Phase 1 of strategic planning involves closing out the 2019-24 Strategic Plan. Departmental teams responsible for action plans outlined in each of the six domains are submitting their outcomes. This will serve as a foundation to develop a new strategic plan that will take us confidently into the future.
