Bas Louter makes drawings, paintings and clothing using spray paint. The repetitive and mechanical nature of his work seems to echo the industrial and mechanized features of a colossal city, a place where memory is erased and movement and failure are in a constant cycle.

At his exhibition at Oolong Gallery Bas will present a new series of canvases that will double as a backdrop for an informal performance by the staff of the gallery.

The title Zuckerzeit (from German: sugar time) was inspired by the third album of the Krautrock band Cluster, relating to Bas’ use of vibrant and sugary colors, which offer a place for escape and contemplation.

The opening will be accompanied by an eclectic dj set by @the_charliekittens
