Last year Woodward Middle School installed a water bottle filling station (at left) in honor of the sustainability efforts of the school's former French teacher and waste guru, Susan Knell. This spring they are taking the next step and removing their two vending machines, the primary reason being to decrease disposable plastic use. Kudos to the leadership of principal Jeff Hale!

Watch for Zero Waste's turn in the Bainbridge Public Library lobby display case April 1-15.

Clothing (all ages, styles, and condition - not wet or mildewed) Linens (bedding, towels, pillows) Fabric scraps Jewelry Shoes and boots Accessories (purses, belts) Outerwear (coats, hats, scarves) Blankets Stuffed animals

The drive runs from now through May 15 . Drop-off spots are in the Commodore entrance lobby and on Sarah Albee's front porch, 1810 Sakai Village Loop . The textiles are sold to Value Village. Money raised goes to support the Eagle Harbor High School PTSO budget.
