February in Review
Wow…where does the time go...it’s hard to believe that February is on the way out and March is almost here….March is that time of year when steam billows from the tops of sugar houses, birds sing more frequently, the days grow longer and the sun shines brighter and although winter is still gracing our door steps, that sweet smell of spring is in the air.
At Zack’s Place we are still embracing winter, skiing and snowboarding at S6 every Tuesday. We had a wonderful visit to Frates Family Farm for sledding and snow shoeing, romping in the snow, enjoying the blizzard conditions. We continued with our snow shoe practices every Monday afternoon, getting ready for the fun competition this Sunday March 1st at S6 with the Upper Valley Hawkes.
We went swimming at UVAC, stayed limber and fit with Bari, yoga danced with Liz, we practiced yoga with Lalita, Tita and Amanda and we played games with Carl.
On the creative side of things…we went to Artistree to make clay with Fiona and Lisa, we had an art class with Finnie designing awesome “handprint” flowers. We made beautiful valentine birds with Lolly, we worked on our recycled bottle caps and lids project with Lynn Vanatta and we had crafts with Kitty and art with Caitlin every Friday.

On a musical note…we had singing with Kerry, “music games” with Emerson, storytelling with Jools, accompanied by Emerson on the violin, singing with Mark VanGulden and some amazing karaoke with Kitty!

We also enjoyed a couple sessions of bowling at Maple Lanes, we had a private viewing of the movie “Abominable” on our own smart board at ZP with gourmet popcorn and listened to wonderful stories read aloud to us by our awesome volunteer readers Diane Dugan and Bettyanne McGuire.

Sadly our field trip to the Latchis Theater in Brattleboro VT, to see the puppet show “Go Home Tiny Monster”, was cancelled due to the wrath of Mother Nature and the mixture of snow, rain and ice she dumped on us. We hope to reschedule this trip in the spring.

All in all another fabulous month at Zack’s place!
