Special Needs Soccer
A NEW BLUE RIBBON PROGRAM:
Soccer (NEW) AGES 12 AND OVER
Tom Heines and Jake Jackson, from Empower Sports will be expanding their impact on Blue Ribbon Recreation by offering soccer. If you are interested in learning fundamental soccer skills and scrimmaging with volunteer teams, all while having a terrifically fun time, this is the place for you.

DAY DATES TIME
Mon 8/19 – 9/23 6:00 – 7:15 pm
NO Soccer 9/2
LOCATION: Solon Community Park Soccer Field #2—park in main parking lot
REGISTRATION & FEE: BONUS $30 on or before 8/2. $35 after 8/2.
LIMIT: Minimum 10 / Maximum 25
 
To register:
Online: Go to  www.solonohio.org . On the home page, click on the "Program Signup" button (clipboard icon). On the next screen, you can Create an Account/Login. Click on Browse Programs, then REC-Blue Ribbon to view/register for a program(s).
In Person: At the Solon Community Center, 35000 Portz Parkway, Solon, 44139, 6am-7pm weekdays/8am-5:00pm weekends. 
GPD Inclusion day at Derby Downs
INCLUSION DAY
Inclusion Day is an event where individuals with all different abilities and their friends & family will have the opportunity to take a ride down the world famous Derby Downs Track in a ride-along Soap Box Derby car.
Guests will also get to enjoy lunch, entertainment, and other fun activities.
Ages 5 & up
Maximum weight for riders is 185 pounds
Helmets will be provided or riders may bring their own helmets. 
Participation is limited to the first 250 riders who register.

Autism Friendly Touch-a-Truck hour

Join Summit Metro Parks and the Autism Society of Greater Akron for Touch-A-Truck as we get up close and personal with more than 12 vehicles. This is a free and fun interactive family event that encourages individuals with all abilities to touch vehicles, ask questions, and even climb inside to take in the view from the driver's seat.

COME AND ENJOY:
  • No bright lights and sirens (there may be an occasional honk)
  • Quiet activities between visits to the trucks
  • Food available to purchase from local food trucks and on-site concessions
  • Free swim pass good for the day from 10 am - 8 pm (available at Metro Parks and ASGA tables)

Autism Society Water Works Family Picnic

Bring your family and join ASGA for a fun day in the sun! We have reserved the Creekside Pavilion inside the park just past the lap pool and across the bridge. ASGA will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. Families, please bring chips, cookies, vegetables, fruit or side to share. There are picnic tables under the pavilion, but feel free to bring a blanket, lawn chair or beach ball - ASGA will have corn hole and other small games to share.
 
COST (Water Works Entry Fee Paid to ASGA)
Children 2 and under - FREE
Ages 3 to 12 - $5 for Cuyahoga Falls Residents / $12 for Non-Residents
Ages 13 to 59 - $7 for Cuyahoga Falls Residents / $17 for Non-Residents
Age 60 and over - $5 for Cuyahoga Falls Residents / $12 for Non-Residents
PHOTO ID REQUIRED FOR AGES 16+
Anyone age 16 and older must show a valid, physical government-issued photo ID to enter the facility. Digital copies will not be accepted. This can be a driver license, military ID, passport, or state ID.
