"Painting is therapeutic play for me. I love celebrating the beauty that is so apparent in the world around me. I began with watercolor, and still consider it my favorite medium, though I use and enjoy all media of painting.
I consider myself an art adventurer. I basically like to play with paint, and since I'm easily bored, I play in lots of different ways. Techniques fascinate me and I'm kind of a technique junky. Color is a common thread that unites most of my work. Playing with shape and color, line and texture, I like to go beyond what I see and explore possibility. I don't want to limit my perspective or technique, nor do I want to constrain my approach in any way. I love having every option available to me. This makes the journey toward completion of a painting exhilarating! Anything is possible! My perspective is reflected in the variety of mediums and approaches used in my paintings.
It's become my passion to not only paint, but to teach and share with others the creative joy of painting. Finding the time to study art when I became an empty nester basically changed my life! It's brought so much purpose and joy to my world that I'm almost evangelical about it...I want all my students to experience the thrill of tapping into their creative potential."
