Topbar is now compatible with Zedmed version 31 and above.

A Topbar update will be released to practices from 6th July 2020 f or clinics with Zedmed version 31 or above.

Pen CS worked with Zedmed to increase server performance, provided practices follow the Topbar setup below.

Solution

In Topbar Settings, under the Application Settings Tab, a text box to enter the SYSDBA password is now visible. Clinic Administrators can enter this password in order provide Zedmed functionality. Read more.

Topbar Setup
  1. Practices will require a SYSDBA password. Clinic administrators should know this password. If not, please contact Zedmed Support.
  2. Open Settings on Topbar and select the Application Settings tab.
  3. Enter SYSDBA password into SYSDBA text-box. Please note, Topbar will encrypt it and save it in Topbar's database. The password does not leave the practice.
  4. Follow Topbar request to restart the PCS Clinic server once the connection test is successful. The Topbar service can be restarted from the 'Support and Diagnosis' tab in the Topbar Settings.

When the SYSDBA password is saved in the Topbar database and after the service restart, Topbar will use SYSDBA user to read the database, improving performance and addressing any issues you may have experienced.
