New tangle: w
ell, well, who

Maria writes:
This cool tangle made its debut at zenAgain, 2018. A roomful of our marvelous CZTs had their first go at it on an
Opus tile
(Really, the nerve of us!) And even though it is a somewhat focused tangle, they rocked it!
This tangle shares Zentangle DNA with the tangle
well
. Rick came up with the name after noticing it had a rather "owlish" look to it. I think it has an energy that's fun to maneuver this way and that.
You'll want a fairly good size space to try it out, (at least a
Zendala
) then you will know what size you can comfortably tangle this tangle.
As always, have fun.

I began this black Zendala by drawing the basic "well well who" with a white Gelly Roll®
08. I then went in with a gold Gelly Roll, to add the "who" part...those eyes and auras that gave this tangle its name.
With the side of a General's white charcoal pencil, I added the seemingly grey tone in the surround, swirling the pencil round and round, then softening it with a tortillon.
With a black Micron®,
I added an aura around the well well who, and added "coffered" lines for character.
I then went in with a blue water color pencil and added some blue within the triangle spaces, then added a bit of white charcoal in the center, and softened with the magic tortillons once again.
Then I grabbed a 08 black Micron®
and added some "therefore" (triple dots) and a few white dots in the grey area.
Voila!

A conversation with Amanda Clifford, CZT
|
|
Over the years all of us here at Zentangle HQ have been so fortunate to hear and read powerful, extraordinary, and heartwarming stories from people all over the world. Some come to us in person, some over the phone, others by snail mail or email.
The Zentangle
Story Booth series
is an on going series of video testimonials from people whose lives have been changed by the Zentangle Method. It is our way of documenting the stories we hear and sharing them with the Zentangle community.
Behind every story is a wondrous individual willing to tell it, and today we share with you Amanda Clifford, CZT.

A heartfelt "Thank You" to Amanda for sharing her story.
