  • S'mores
  • Your ideas for future ZW initiatives
  • Ridwell raffles for a free month
  • Reuse giveaways

Please RSVP, but if you forget, come anyway!

Beach Cleanup Recap

More than 130 residents outfitted themselves with buckets, bags and grabbers to clean up our shoreline for the ninth annual Bainbridge Island Beach Cleanup on September 15.

Erik Hammer at Hammer Visuals generously donated his time to film, edit and create this brief video of our volunteers in action. Perhaps you will see yourself if you got out on the beach that day.

Museum Exhibit about Our Trash

An exhibit currently showing at the Burke Museum on the University of Washington campus, Our Material World, looks at our trash and the story in all our stuff. It comes highly recommended by ReFashion chair, Naomi Spinak.

Legislative Stance

Sustainable Bainbridge, the Land Trust, and the Parks and Trails Foundation support a "No" vote on Washington state's Initiative 2117 (as do an unprecedented 450 other organizations in the state).

Due to the Climate Commitment Act placing a fee on pollution, $2 billion is now being invested across Washington on conservation, public transit, decarbonization, air quality, wildfire prevention, climate resilience, energy assistance programs to low-income households, salmon recovery, farmland, and more.
