Electrical Engineering's Zhuo Lu Receives CAREER Award
The National Science Foundation CAREER award is “the most prestigious award in support of early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization” as described by NSF. Department of Electrical Engineering Professor Zhuo Lu won a CAREER award this March and said it will support his current research in improving the performance and security of wireless networks.
Tenex Software Solutions Establishes a Scholarship in Memory of a Valued Colleague
When USF computer science alum Matt Moreno ’14 passed away in January, his co-workers at Tenex Software Solutions in Tampa decided to create a scholarship to honor their friend and colleague so that his legacy can live on through future students. 
O’Shields Scholarship Honors a True Guiding Light
Engineering alum Lakecia Gunter ’95 has established a scholarship in honor of Joy O’Shields, former director of the College’s Minority Engineering Program.
USF Named a Silver-Level Bicycle Friendly University by National League of American Bicyclists
The University of South Florida Tampa campus has been recognized as a Silver-Level Bicycle Friendly University with an award from the League of American Bicyclists, the premier grassroots advocacy organization encouraging better bicycling and protecting the right of people who bike.

Marcia Alvarado, ’09 MCE, started a new position as Market Leader for all aspects of WGI’s structural engineering practice in Tampa. She will serve as WGI's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council Leader. Marcia received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award at the 2018 Engineering Honors event. Congratulations.
