From The Editors March 9th, 2022

In this edition of British Columbia Golf's newsletter we bring you the latest version of Brad Ziemer's BC Golf notes. Brad leads off this week's notes by honouring the passing of one of BC's all-time great amateurs, Gary Puder, at the age of 84. Puder was a long-time member of the Vancouver Golf Club and amassed multiple club championships there to go along with his provincial triumphs that included a BC Amateur title in 1987.

Brad also offers some insight on the most recent Evans Scholarship winner out of the Victoria Golf Club, Holly Stewart, who will attend the University of Washington in Seattle this fall. That scholarship, which includes tuition and housing, is estimated to be worth more than $120,000 US.

At the same time he reports on this year's Distinguished Service Award recipients, who will be acknowledged at the BC Golf AGM on March 30th.

And we'd like to bring your attention to the raffle being run by KidSport BC, who launched their first ever online 50/50 raffle in hopes of raising much-needed funds to help more kids across the province experience the joy of a season of sport.

Enjoy your golf and please stay safe.
