Fix Your Eyes on Jesus is our theme for the 2020-2021 school year. How interesting is it that the teachers chose this theme last spring in 2019 for the coming school year? God’s plans and timing are perfect, for He is the author and perfecter of our faith. As we walk through the day to day, our focus must be on Him. Many things can be in our view. There are many distractions, interruptions, and disturbances that cause us to take our attention and align it with the wrong thing. But God calls us to Fix our Eyes on Jesus, for He is the one who brings truth, grace, forgiveness, and love.
The new year starts on August 6, 2020, for our Elementary students and on August 17, 2020, for our preschool students. The link for our plans for a 2020 Vision is in this Summer Mailing. The 2020 Vision Task Force has put in many hours of research, planning, and preparing for the new year. Although it will be different, we are excited to offer Christian education to all of our students and families.
Enclosed are a few pieces of information as you prepare for the coming school year. We have added additional forms and links for you to read as you prepare for the coming school year. You utilize the link on the digital copy to find the items needed for Sign-Up Nights/ Days. In August, we will roll out our new parent portal, Sycamore. Sycamore will take the place of Fast Direct, for those families who are returning. Bear with us all as we learn the new tool. We will have more possibilities for parent communication and information.
You have been in my prayers over the summer months. We are blessed to have you journey with us into a new year. As we begin the new school year, I would like to welcome the new families joining us at Zion. We are excited to have you with us as we start a new year together. I also look forward to continuing with our returning families with whom we have shared the past years.
It is truly an honor that your family is with us at Zion. Raising up God’s children with you brings great joy to our faculty, staff, and the ministry of Zion Lutheran. Education is a priority, teaching children is our gift, and sharing the Gospel is a great opportunity. God has an excellent plan as we unfold the 2020-2021 school year. I pray for you to see His continued blessings as you share the rest of the summer with your family. I pray that together we will be connected even more through the coming months.
