Chapel Offerings - Village of Hope Orphanage in Tacoa, Honduras
" Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
Luke 6:38
Through His word, God instructs us to offer our gifts to Him for use in His kingdom. That is why part of our weekly worship together in chapel includes a collection of offering, and our students are encouraged to participate in whatever way they can. Our first quarter chapel offerings will be used to support the Honduras mission team and their work at the Village of Hope orphanage.

Virtual Backpack
Virtual Binder
Throughout the year, Zion Lutheran School distributes information to students from outside non-profit organizations like the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department or info on local summer camps.
Rather than sending home flyers from these organizations or posting all in our newsletters or having a display in the school, we will be posting such information on this Virtual Backpack webpage throughout the school year for all to see.
Suitability and approval will be at the discretion of Zion Lutheran School.
Piano/Guitar Lessons for the 2019-2020 year
Zion Lutheran School is again offering piano and guitar lessons (students entering Grades 2-8) for those interested for the 2019-2020 year. The teachers are Mrs. Terry Borage (piano) and Pastor Jeff McCullough (guitar and piano), both having taught for several years at Zion. The cost is $20 for a 30 minute lesson. We try to schedule the lesson so that it does not conflict with the classroom curriculum.

If your child has taken lessons in previous years and wants to continue, please notify your piano/guitar teacher. They will contact Mrs.Tayon for scheduling the lessons.  If you are interested in starting lessons for your child, please contact Dawn Tayon at  dtayon@zionbelleville.org  or call/text me at 314-239-8240 with your name, child’s name and grade and indicate whether you would like guitar or piano lessons.  I will add you to the list for available slots, first come, first served.

Lessons will be scheduled during the first two weeks of school, with lessons beginning on Tuesday, September 3 (the day after Labor Day). Expect the schedule by Thursday, August 29.

We are so fortunate to be able to offer this service to the students and so blessed to have both Mrs. Borage and Pastor Jeff to help with the music program. This helps build such a strong foundation in musical skills.

Reading Lab Volunteers Needed
Help wanted!

Zion's Reading Lab provides small group guided reading instruction for all of our kindergarten through second-grade students. Students come to the reading lab 4 times a week for 30 minutes per class. Each day of the reading lab has a specific lesson plan that targets leveled reading, word work, comprehension, and writing.

Volunteers are pivotal to the lab! Volunteers work alongside teachers to facilitate a small group using the lesson plans provided. Groups rotate every 2 weeks so all teachers and volunteers get a chance to work with all students at all reading levels.

The reading lab takes place from 8:30 to 10:20 am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Two volunteers are needed each day for the lab to run. Parents, grandparents, extended family members, or those with any interest in working with students on their reading are encouraged to volunteer.

Interested volunteers may fill out a volunteer form below:

If you have any questions about being a volunteer please contact Jamie Lewis (Zion's Resource Teacher) at  jlewis@zionschoolbelleville.org  or by calling 618-234-0275.

Thank you in advance for your consideration!
