Congratulations to the West Plains High School Zizzer Pride Band on a great performance this weekend at the Missouri State University - Springfield parade. The band was among 29 bands participating and came away with 1st place in Class 4A.  The band also received the award for Outstanding Precision (marching)!

The West Plains High School varsity football team hosted the Rolla Bulldogs on Friday, October 17th and won with a score of 42-21.  The win finishes the regular season at 7-2 and a tie with the Camdenton Lakers as co-champions of the Ozark Conference.

Watch the Zizzers at home Friday night as they take on their first game of District play. 

The West Plains Middle School 8th grade football team ended its season undefeated after winning against the Salem Tigers 50-6 on Thursday.  Congratulations!

West Plains High School Senior, Kelsey Collins, was crowned the 2014 Homecoming Queen during halftime of the varsity football game Friday evening.  Kelsey's escort was senior Clay Collins.  Congratulations!

Fifth graders at South Fork Elementary are participating in a community service project benefiting the Ronald McDonald House.  The class is collecting items for the Happy Wheels Wish List.

Ronald McDonald House Charities� of the Ozarks offers a "home away from home" for families of ill and
injured children, ages 0 - 21, and high-risk maternity patients at Springfield's two Ronald McDonald Houses. Services include both overnight stays and opportunities for daytime-only visits.

The West Plains High School swim team members and coaches held a fundraiser Saturday, October 18th at Mudbusters Car Wash, 1750 Porter Wagoner Blvd. in West Plains.  Donations were made by the public and Mudbusters Car Wash donated 100% of their revenue from all car washes purchased October 17-19th.   

Mudbusters general manager, Jeremy Hafer, is pictured presenting a total donation of $1225 to Athletic Director Greg Simpkins and Zizzer Swim Team coaches Rhonda Brownrigg, Katie Jensen, and Stan Dennison.  The swim team is in its inaugural year and is operating solely on donations and fundraising since it is not yet a district funded sport.  If you'd like to donate to the team, please contact the West Plains High School Athletic Department at 256-6150.

Arvest Bank has announced the beginning of its fourth annual "1 Million Meals" campaign, which challenges communities to help fight hunger.

The West Plains Elementary and the West Plains Middle School have teamed up with Arvest to collect nonperishable food items through Thursday, October 30th.  All donations will benefit the Samaritan Outreach Center.  

Food donation baskets are set up throughout each building.  Be sure to make a sweep through your pantry at home and donate to the cause!
