Knock, knock, knock on doors! Zack’s comin’
---It’s been a multi-pronged campaign from the outset -- fundraising events, direct mail, social media, civic groups and being involved in community events.
---But make no mistake, political races such as the one for state representative District 115 are won by knocking on doors meeting voters and engaging. It’s a matter of giving voters a fresh solution from one of their own, a real voice.
---Candidate Zack Grady’s been knocking on doors in Biloxi and D’Iberville, and between now and Aug. 8 he or a member of his team will be saying hello.
---“I genuinely enjoy meeting people, introducing myself and having a brief conversation about how great our community can be,” Zack said. “At the same time, I keep it brief because nobody likes people knocking on their door unexpectedly.
---“So we're saying it now: You’ll see a team of smiling faces wearing bright red ‘I back Zack' shirts coming to a neighborhood near you!”
---In your own backyard: Yes, we’ve heard the requests, and we’re complying. If you’d like Zack to drop by and visit with several of your friends while out knocking on doors, we’ll make time. Just send us a note.
It’s been a Blue kind of week
---It’s been National Law Enforcement Officer Week all this week. Some words from Zack:
---“I certainly reflect on that chapter of my life and know that it will always be a part of me. My graduation from the law enforcement academy, patrolling the streets and eventually having a hand in law enforcement on both sides of the Bay before I was able to earn my MBA.
---“Lots of fond memories, but at the same time the fallen officer ceremonies and another tragedy this week are stark reminders of the brave sacrifices made by local law enforcers and their families. May those sacrifices and those individuals never be forgotten.”
From the trail: quotes and anecdotes
---You can say that again: It may sound like a tongue twister, but Zack says it with confidence and sincerity: “I’m the same person today as I was yesterday and will be tomorrow.”
---Signs R Us: The campaign has placed nearly 400 yard signs on private property throughout District 115. And, as they say, we’re just getting started. The campaign, by the way, is placing no signs on public rights of way, which is prohibited by city ordinances. Get your sign delivered for free.
---Shoe leather: The gentleman in the Biloxi neighborhood recognized Zack and had a question: How many pairs of shoes are you going to wear out? Replied Zack: “I’m thinking two, but the goal is three.” That’s our boy!
---And finally: We remain eternally grateful for the interest from the growing Zmail audience. Feel free to forward to a friend. This communication with the residents of District 115 is a continuing endeavor and is paid for by the Friends to Elect Zachary Grady. See the past issues of Zmail by clicking here.
