                                                      Guest presenter: Children's Network

Our speaker at the meeting tonight was Maureen Coble from Children's Network Of SW Florida. She informed us about the mission of the agency and the services they provide such as adoptions, foster care, case management, and counseling just to name a few. Even with the pandemic at hand they are seeing children in person and virtually.

They provide services in 5 counties and currently 2,316 children are being served, 1,350 alone in Lee County. One of the greatest challenges is to find foster homes for teens. Three main reasons way youth enter the system; substance abuse, domestic violence, and inadequate supervision.

A few ways we can help:
1- The annual "Walk to Prevent Child Abuse" in October this
year will be virtual and take place over 3 days. We can
help raise funds to support the agency by walking.
2- If you see something, say something. Call the Abuse
    Hotline 1-866-96-Abuse
3- Volunteer with the Family Mentorship Program, a
partnership with United Way. Volunteers spend 1 hour
a week providing guidance to adults being reunited with
     their child/children.
4-  Become a foster or adoptive parent. Attend in online
     informational meeting August 31.
