This summer we are offering mini camps that give kids the opportunity to explore dance, healthy living, cultural learning, and the visual arts. Each week will focus on a different country or culture and feature a high energy Zumba Kids dance fitness class based on the rhythms of that culture. Kids will also enjoy games, learning about healthy food and fitness choices, and art projects incorporating that week’s theme.
Zumba Kids classes are a great way to promote kids’ well being. The teaching approach makes physical activity fun for kids who might not be interested in sports or traditional dance classes. There is no competition, no performance pressure, and no right or wrong way to do the moves, just cool music, a positive atmosphere, and an age-appropriate approach to popular dance styles.
Two mini camps are offered this summer:
The Zumba Kids Jr. Mini Camp is for ages 4 to 6 and meets on Wednesdays from 9:30am to 11:30am. Register here for Session 1, June 8 - July 6, and here for Session 2, July 13 - August 10. Each five-week session costs $70.
The Zumba Kids Mini Camp is for ages 7 to 11 and meets on Fridays from 9:30am to 11:30am. Register here for Session 1, June 10 - July 8, and here for Session 2, July 15 - August 12. Each five-week session costs $70.
Move Make Create also offers Zumba classes for adults at 10:30 on Wednesdays and Fridays. These classes overlap with the art time for the mini camps, so parents can drop their kids off and get their own chance to move to world rhythms. Adult classes are $8 each with multi-class passes available at a discount.
The classes meet at Flamencura Music and Dance at 7113 Burnet Rd. #111.
