An Update from Places to Age

First and foremost, thank you! Your continued support is what keeps the Places to Age project moving forward. We are deeply grateful for your encouragement and donations.

We also want to keep you updated on our progress. We are in a very dynamic phase of this project to build an Assisted Living & Memory Care facility in Chaffee County. Our current focus is to secure financing for the project. Specific details will undoubtedly shift as opportunities continue to develop.

Financing Progress

Over the past 2.5 months, we have been meeting with a wide range of potential funders.

During this process, we have found the strongest alignment with community-focused financial institutions that specialize in supporting rural America.

One such organization recently sent us an initial term sheet. In addition, a local bank has expressed interest in potentially participating in this proposed deal structure. These are early discussions—not final commitments—but they represent meaningful progress and indicate that the project financing appears achievable.

In December, representatives from these banks will visit Chaffee County to tour the property, meet local leaders, and hear directly from our extended team and community partners. Their visit is an important next step as we continue working toward securing the necessary financing to bring this project to life.

Community Support

Across all financing discussions, lenders place significant weight on the depth and breadth of community support. Support from you and many other Chaffee County residents who have contributed to this effort helps us validate the need, reduce perceived risk, and strengthen our position as we work to secure project funding.

What Comes Next

Nothing is final, and nothing is guaranteed. However, we are beginning to see some light on the path forward. There is still extensive work ahead, and 2026 will be a challenging year as we navigate the many steps required to secure financing.

Thank You

Thank you for walking this long path with us. Your overall support matters more than ever. This project exists because you believe that Chaffee County seniors deserve a place to age with dignity, connection, and care.

We’ll continue sharing updates as we can.

This is truly a community project!

Places to Age, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is focused on bringing Assisted Living and Memory Care to Chaffee County.

Currently, there are no other continuum of care facilities for our large and growing elderly population. We want to change this so people don't have to move out of the county to receive Assisted Living or Memory Care services.
