As Langley leans into a new chapter of learning, many students, as well as teachers, begin their journey. One of these teachers is Jessica Miller. Although she may be new to teaching at Langley, she has been in the Langley community for 10 years as Langley’s cheerleading coach.
“I have always been around here and wanted to join in a different capacity this year,” Miller said.
Coaching and cheer have always been a part of Miller's life. She grew up competing in cheer and ultimately decided that Langley was the place to put her knowledge to use. Her passion for cheerleading and coaching is palpable, always striving for the best from her
students and cheerleaders.
“A goal for my cheer team is to make it to districts and ultimately states,” Miller said.
Before teaching at Langley, she taught third grade at Chesterbrook Elementary School.
Ultimately she decided to switch to Langley after having a baby last spring.
“I wanted to be at home with him and take a step back from teaching younger kids,”
Miller said.
Miller has spent her whole life around kids and has grown used to teaching and helping them. With being on cheer teams and becoming a teacher after college, she has gained a ton of experience working with and around kids.
“I feel like coaching really drove me to join the PE staff so that I can reach those
highschoolers in a different way,” Miller said.
