What do you know about Artificial Intelligence (AI)? I'm aware that is far too broad a question, and there is so much I'm not sure anyone can grasp it all.
Some of the common comments I hear from investment professionals is that AI and its implications could be bigger than the internet. AI seems to be exploding everywhere. This leads to questions of: A) How can we take advantage of this, and B) What is real and what is fake?
Before we get too far ahead of ourselves, maybe we need to apply the brakes a little. History has shown, time after time, how new technology developed to change the world. Along with this, investors have provided capital to expand and further develop these new tools for the betterment of mankind.
However, even something as revolutionary as the light bulb took years to become profitable. According to Google, the incandescent light bulb became commercially successful around 1880. even then it took several more years for it to become widely profitable for manufacturers. Thomas Edison's initial carbon-filament bulb had a short lifespan and required an expensive support system. It wasn't until the introduction of the more durable and efficient tungsten filament around 1907 that significantly improved profitability by reducing replacement costs and power consumption.
