Greetings!,
Did you miss us last week? Maybe you didn't notice, but we failed to publish our blog last week. We tried, we had material, but for reasons we don't have an answer to, we could not access the website we use for publishing and disseminating our blog.
Technology is great... when it works.
However, I seem to get the most frustrated when technology prevents you from simple tasks. Last week was frustrating for not only not publishing our blog, but login troubles with our password keeper. As I'm sure you have to do as well, we update our passwords for many programs on a quarterly basis. With the number of sites we access, simply writing down passwords and keeping them someplace safe has gone the way of landline telephones. Some may have them, but the number is shrinking.
This all makes me wonder: What if there was some cataclysmic event? Would we be able to function as a society? Technology has invaded everything from how you are reading this, the phones in our pocket, the medical testing, and procedures we routinely have.
I have heard it said that the phones we carry have more computing power than the Apollo spacecraft that orbited and landed on the moon. This also makes me wonder about how more much technology has advanced and is on the Artemis 2 that launched this week to go farther in space than we have ever before.
Obviously, we are deep into a technological world. How far artificial intelligence and the compounding advancement of our knowledge will take us is has yet to be seen. I have also heard that God made us curious creatures for a reason. It will be nice when all we have learned makes our world a better place...and I can still access the programs I need when I need them.
As always, thanks for reading.
Bernie & Chad
