Arts Council Greater Lansing announces its upcoming Grant Chat. Grant Chats are monthly drop-in events that are one part networking and one part grant consultation, held at cafes in the Capital Region. Swing by Taste Coffee Co. on Friday, Aug. 12, 2022, between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to discuss your creative ideas with membership & program manager Taylor Haslett! Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center is seeking applications for a seasoned executive and fundraiser to manage all operations of the Gallery as well as spearhead a capital campaign for a long-term facility. The executive director will be the public face of the organization, representing the Gallery at local, state and national levels through advocacy, public relations and networking opportunities, as well as building relationships with community stakeholders. Opportunity Arts presents a professional development workshop with artist Leisa Collins on Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at 5:30 p.m at the Turner-Dodge House. This opportunity is open to any artists wishing to learn more about building and running a successful art business. PlacemakingUs announces its Placemaking Mastery Program: Portland. Dive deep with Portland local experts into the intriguing models, policies, tactics and zeitgeist behind America's most placemade city. Aug. 17, 2022, 5:00 p.m. - Aug. 21, 2022, 11:00 a.m. PDT. Includes hotel, meetups and tours, excursions and more. Deadline: Aug. 16, 2022.

The Arts Council Greater Lansing and the Board of Water & Light announce a call for artists for a public art project. The project will be an art print to be installed on Washington Ave. in REO Town. Chosen work will be printed and installed by BWL and artist will receive a one-time licensing fee for their chosen digital submission. Deadline: July 31, 2022. DEADLINE SOON!

Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center seeks artists for the Michigan Made Holiday Art Exhibition, which will feature artworks that range from fine art to small gifts, including jewelry, paintings, pottery, metal work, leather goods, paper products, glass works, woodworking and more. They seek contemporary fine art, inspired modern craft and items designed by Michigan makers. Deadline: Sept. 7, 2022.

The Allen Neighborhood Center and Prospect P.L.A.C.E. Neighborhood are currently accepting proposals from artists interested in creating two commissioned public art pieces to be located near the pavilion in Hunter Park in front of Allen Place. The pieces are to be creatively themed, functional bike racks. The proposed bike racks will be highly visible to pedestrian and automobile traffic and serve as landmarks representing the vibrancy of the Eastside and Hunter Park. Deadline: Aug. 19, 2022.

Canvas Pontiac announces a call to artists for a juried art contest & outdoor exhibit. Cash awards of $1000 to $3000 will be presented in each category. They are accepting paintings, drawings, photographs, digital art, NFTs and mixed media. Deadline: Aug. 31, 2022.

Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park & Museum Art Fair, in Hamilton, Ohio, is seeking entries for their Sept. 24-25, 2022, exhibition. The Art Fair accepts most types of work like fiber, glass, wood, prints, wearable art, jewelry and much more. All eligible mediums are listed on the application. Deadline: Aug. 1, 2022.

Northern Illinois University Art Museum in DeKalb, Illinois, announces a call to artists for its exhibition, "Stories from My Childhood." They are seeking artists to encapsulate and share a story of a transformative or impactful event from their childhood via an original work of art and accompanying text. Deadline: Aug. 19, 2022.

Deines Cultural Center in Russell, Kansas, seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, "Mystery, Magic & the Macabre." This exhibition celebrates thoughtful and unique portrayals of the dark, the mystifying and the hair-raising. All works must be for sale. Deadline: Aug. 28, 2022.

Old Town ArtFeast Needs You!
That's right, it's almost ArtFeast time! Old Town Lansing's ArtFeast is happening on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, and the Old Town Commercial Association (OTCA) needs your help!
Grab a shift
This art-full day brings artists, activities, food trucks and so much fun to Old Town! Who wouldn't want to be a part of that? Luckily the OTCA has several volunteer opportunities available throughout the day, beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. Help with setting up, assisting vendors, tearing down and a light cleaning at the end of the day. Three shifts are available!
