Excavating Our Roots
Baptist History and the Origins of White Supremacy in the United States
Join us November 10-12 for a pilgrimage to Montgomery, Ala., and the National Memorial for Peace and Justice and the Legacy Museum as part of our ongoing efforts to become an antiracist organization. As Baptists we must reckon with our role in a violent past that continues to shape our future. By visiting the memorial and the museum together we will get the opportunity to sit with that history and imagine new possibilities.

“Embody Your Healing” is an invitation to retreat—not to escape the body and its deep knowledge—but to restore the body, to return to its core goodness and let it guide us into wholeness. Facilitated by Rev. Kyndall Rae Rothaus, an award-winning preacher and spoken word artist.

Knowing the Biblical Story – Being in the Story
September 13, 2022 at 7:00 PM EDT: If you are a lay leader or clergyperson wondering how to make the work of antiracism an essential part of your church’s identity and outreach, this series is for you!

"We have a tradition in African American sacred rhetoric of call and response...There is an expectation that you’re going to talk back to the preacher and let that preacher know you’re alive...If there has ever been a moment in our history where we are needed to use that agency and authority to talk back, it is now."
"In one of the most consequential terms in the 233-year history of the U.S. Supreme Court, an aggressive and radicalized supermajority of justices has begun a comprehensive reshaping of the legal landscape of the country with consequences we can only begin to imagine. Among the most far-reaching of the just-concluded term were decisions on abortion, church and state, guns and the environment."
"Refusing to ignore injustice can create difficult conversations, tense silences at Thanksgiving dinners, and disconnection. Maybe you’ve been unfriended; maybe no one talks to you at breaks anymore because you wouldn’t laugh at the racist, sexist, homophobic joke...Maybe you suggested that we have a gun problem in our country and now your uncle won’t talk to you."
