Proposed Bylaws Amendments
We’re likely to have a few Bylaws amendment proposals each year, because WILPF US must stay current with our changing world. The ones this year implement and formalize WILPF International changes and current practices. If you’re interested, see more details at the end of this email.
Going Forward
On behalf of all of WILPF US, I thank our national Program Committee Chair, George Friday, for stepping up to additionally fill the role of Acting Nominating Committee Chair.
Thank you also to all of the members of the 2023 Nominating Committee. Additionally, special thanks to our former Nominating Committee Chair, Laura Dewey, for preparing the ballot packet, overseeing its mailing, and posting the materials to the candidates webpage.
And thank you to our out-going Board members, Dianne Blais and Joan Goddard, who will welcome their counterparts, Ginger and Tina, to the Board at the January 27 meeting.
The 2023 Nominating Committee is a great committee to be part of, to connect with and encourage WILPF leaders across the country! If you’re interested in more info, please contact me at President@wilpfUS.org.
Yours, Darien De Lu
President, WILPF US

More on the Bylaws and the proposed Bylaws amendments –
The amendments are pretty straight-forward. Three are specifying how WILPF US implements the 2018 and 2022 changes in the Constitution of WILPF International. (As a WILPF section, WILPF US is bound by the WILPF International Constitution and By-Laws.) The fourth amendment clarifies the term of the Board position, Past President.
(One example of WILPF US “staying current” is that, unlike WILPF International, our section doesn’t use a hyphen when we’re talking about our own WILPF US Bylaws!)
The complete and current WILPF US Bylaws are on our website under About/Bylaws and Policies – here. If you have any questions or comments about these Bylaws amendments or possible ideas for future Bylaws changes, please contact us at bylawreview@wilpfus.org. Please include your phone number and time zone so we may better contact you.
