Interim Minister Search Committee
The church council has established the Interim Minister Search Committee (IMSC) of nine-members: Robin Campbell, Elly Chong, Don Clifford, Anita DiMauro, Evie Hao, Tom Kiyabu, Carolyn Kuahulu, Margie Smith, and John Steelquist

Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees: Roy and Nyle Hallman

On December 6, 2020, the 2020 Na Hoku Hanohano award for “Lifetime Achievement” was presented to Roy and Nyle Hallman for their “lasting impact on our choral and Hawaiian music.”

The Hallmans came to Central Union Church in l969 where Roy became Minister of Music and Nyle became Organist. They “enhanced the church’s strong choral tradition by establishing several more choirs for children and youth.”

Don’t Miss These Scholarship Opportunities!
Application deadline: February 28, 2021
The Women’s League is once again pleased to offer 2 scholarship opportunities to assist those in attending (or planning to attend) higher education programs. Previous awards ranged from $1000 to $2000* and prior recipients may reapply each year.

The KENNETH O. and DORIS A. REWICK EDUCATIONAL AID FUND is awarded to students from Hawaii enrolled (or will be enrolled) in any accredited school for undergraduate or graduate college training, or for other specialized training beyond high school and includes full time, part time or online students.
The RUTH C. SCUDDER SCHOLARSHIP is awarded to a female of Christian affiliation from Hawaii who is a student within the University of Hawaii system. Preference is given to UCC members and upperclassmen. 

Applications will be accepted through the ScholarsApp online platform beginning December 7, 2020. Visit https://scholarsapp.com/ to create an account and for additional information. Please e-mail cucwlscholarship@gmail.com with any questions. Deadline for complete applications is February 28, 2021.

*Award amounts may vary from year to year and are per the discretion of the Women’s League.

All attendees will be required to sign in with contact information, have a non-contact temperature check, and certify that you can follow the Covid-19 rules set by Central Union Church. CUW members and friends will receive a reminder about the guidelines and the CUC Covid-19 Certification Notice by email before Sunday. Guidelines are also posted in the sanctuary. 

We are taking reservations for the Christmas Eve service.  Seating may be expanded to over 50 inside the sanctuary, and there will also be chairs available on the lanais for those who prefer a seat outside. If you are at church on Sunday you can sign up in person, otherwise, please contact us via email at:  cuwindward@gmail.com

We Need Your Help To Keep On Serving Aloha!

Calling for canned goods and non-perishable food items! Canned vegetables, fruits, and protein (tuna, salmon, Spam,Vienna sausage, corned beef, etc.).  Crackers, boxed macaroni & cheese, cereals, etc.!
We need them for Serving Aloha, Central Union Church’s food distribution mission to help alleviate the growing food insecurity among our communities because of COVID-19.
Bring the food items to Central Union Church: Women’s Building on Wednesdays, 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. 
All are welcome to join us in our effort to serve the community. We appreciate any extra pair of hands for this ministry even if the volunteer cannot stay for the entire duration of the time slot. To select a time, click here.
