Open Your Hearts Wide Showing at Central Union Church
This Sunday, June 13 at 7 pm.

Please email to Pastor Mary at Mary-herbig@centralunionchurch.org if you would like to attend this event.

This ghost story, filled with light comedy, unpacks a very complex part of Hawai’iʻs history. This film covers the early years of the Missionaries arrival and explores their contributions and the relationships they had with the Aliʻi. Based on the recently transcribed Aliʻi Letters and several story circles that took place with Missionary descendents between 2018 and 2019, "Open Your Hearts Wide" is almost 4 years in the making and was written by Central Union’s own Marion Lyman-Mersereau. A free-will offering will be collected to support Play Builders Hawai’i.
Show Care for Fathers and Father Figures this Father’s Day
Help us to celebrate our fathers and father figures in worship this Father’s Day! We are seeking a variety of short and honest reflections, so everyone is invited to spend a minute to send us a written brief response to this prompt:
What is the meaning of fatherhood? OR What does Father’s Day mean to you?

Please send your reflections to Cayanna-herrera@centralunionchurch.org by 5 pm on June 13, 2021.
All reflections will be anonymous.
Flower Arranging
Under the auspices of the Women’s League, the Flower Committee is looking for men and women interested in helping arrange Sunday’s Altar Flowers, on Saturday mornings. No experience is necessary, the Committee is willing to conduct training classes. If you are interested, please call Dona at (808) 256-1147 or email her at Dona.Hanaike@gmail.com.
Memorial Flowers
The flowers that adorn the chancel at each service can be dedicated to family members or friends, in their honor or in their memory—a mention will be made at the end of each service. Your contribution helps the Flower Committee maintain a vibrant selection of flowers each week, as well as meeting their annual budget. To make a donation, please contact Ruth at 342-1400.

Silence is God’s first language, everything else is a poor translation. So, to hear God in God’s language one has to enter into silence too. (Thomas Keating)
