Sunday School is available for children (ages 3 – grade 5)

during the 9 and 11 AM worship services.

Youth (grades 6–12) will meet from 11 AM - 1 PM

Hi, youth! We will begin a brand new series featuring the show The Chosen. Each week we will watch an episode, explore the story in Scripture, and consider their meaning for us today.

Come at 11 AM, meet in the Parish Hall for the opening prayer and song, then head to the Youth Center to begin our journey with The Chosen. There will be food!

On January 17, 2023, which marks 130 years since the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom, an interfaith service was held at First United Methodist Church "in honor and remembrance of the justice, reconciliation, and nonviolence of Queen Lili'uokalani." Pastor Mary was among the many faith leaders that participated.

Notice of the CUC 2023 Annual Budget Meeting & Vision Team Presentation

On Sunday, January 29, we will gather for one combined worship service at 10 AM in the Sanctuary, followed by our Annual Budget Meeting at 11 AM in the Parish Hall for the dual purpose of approving our Budget and hearing a presentation by the Vision Team on the future of Central Union Church.

Members were sent a special email on Sunday, January 8, 2023 titled "NOTICE: CUC 2023 Annual Budget Meeting & Vision Team Presentation" with meeting information including materials and registration. Contact kristen-young@centralunionchurch.org OR 808-440-3014 if you need assistance accessing the information to participate.

Volunteers Needed for Youth Fundraiser

The CUC youth group's annual Punahou Parking Fundraiser is happening on February 3 & 4 and volunteers are needed! This year's funds will go toward a Kaua‘i youth retreat in the Summer and also a confirmation retreat in the Fall.

Youth that want to participate in the Kaua‘i retreat should plan to volunteer. There's plenty of opportunity to volunteer—between 10 AM and 10 PM on both days. New youth are welcome!

If you are willing and able to serve on Friday or Saturday, please email Youth Director Melissa (melissa-thach@centralunionchurch.org) or sign up for a shift by clicking here.

PRAY FOR YOUR CHURCH

  • Pray for blessings upon the Lunar New Year and its celebrations!
  • Pray for openness to learning and remembering the complicated, and sometimes unpleasant, histories of our church and island so that we may engage in reconciliation.
  • Pray for those involved in the children's and youth ministries, that connections deepen among volunteers, families, and the larger congregation.
