—John Lewis

Zoom attendees: it's helpful if you have any prayer you want to offer, put in the chat early. This way we won’t miss any request for prayers!

Blue Candles: If you took your blue candle home Sunday, please shave a little wax off the bottom so it will fit easier in the candle holders. If you left yours at church, they have been shaved. They were a little bigger at the bottom than last year.

Mary of Magdala Announcements

Sunday - St. Nicholas Party - Come one, come all!

Tomorrow, on Sunday, December 7th, please join us after Mass for a Saint Nicholas Party! Santa came early this year with a generous anonymous gift to the Hospitality Committee, so we are using it to celebrate together.

There will be catered light appetizers, cookies, wine and other beverages, table games to win some Saint Nicholas surprise gifts, music, group singing of carols, and lots of celebration!

Since all food and beverages will be provided, you need bring nothing but your community and joy filled spirits! We hope that you will join us, and leave feeling a little bit lighter and filled with the spirit of Christmas.

 Community Christmas Video

One of our Mary of Magdala traditions for our Christmas Mass is a video sharing images of how our members celebrate Christmas in their homes. The Christmas video for 2024 can be viewed here:

Please review the video. If you have changes in your household since last Christmas or have new images you would like to share, please send to Tom Moos (tjmoos@aol.com) with the details or new, high resolution JPG pictures by Dec 17.

In addition, please get any pictures of your Christmas creche decorations to Tom for the Christmas Day video. Pictures can include people!

Remember: The last day to send is December 17th.

  • 2 evening hosts (6 to 8 p.m) for Tuesday, December 30th.

You get to eat dinner with our families and help with the children after dinner while the parents have a meeting. You can sign up here, or write to Lynne Barnes at this email, who can do that for you.

Thank you, Lynne and Jean

Advent Grocery Card Project

During Advent, the MoM Social Justice team is sponsoring a project of collecting grocery cards for our Pastors to distribute to folks needing immediate and short-term assistance with gas or food.

The need for this help has increased with insecurity faced by low-income families in light of interrupted SNAP benefits and other government assistance programs.

If you are willing to help with this project, please purchase grocery gift cards for King Soopers or Safeway in denominations of $10 or $25. Please label the card packaging with the denomination and drop the cards in the Offertory collection basket at church on Sunday.

Continuing the Food Drive

Mary of Magdala is joining with St Paul’s Episcopal and Trinity Lutheran in collecting non-perishable food for our Little Pantry outside the church on Stuart Street and for the Food Bank of Larimer County.

In the Reverse Advent Calendar, donors add a can or other non-perishable food item to a bag or box every day during Advent and then bring their donations weekly or before Christmas to the church.

Please do NOT donate expired items or food packaged in glass containers. You can find more information about the Reverse Advent Calendar project and suggestions for donating here.

Advent Mid Week Soup & Supper Begins This Week

The Trinity building offices will be closed from December 24-January 1.
