"Coming Home"
Rev. Lane Cobb
Coming home isn't as easy as one might think. Let us explore what it means to come home and the magic and missteps that lead us back to the heart of who we are and the place we long to be. Rev. Cobb is an interfaith minister, author, and holistic intuitive spiritual life and wellness coach. Her parents are CUUC members Jim and Mary Lane Cobb

Sun Jul 14, 10:00am, Fellowship Hall
"Your Hard-Earned Happiness"
Dr. Rev. Nate Walker
Does happiness just happen? Or are there strategies we can use to increase our happiness for ourselves and those around us? By drawing upon evidence-based publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, we will reflect upon the scientific study and practice of happiness. Rev. Walker was the ministerial intern at CUUC in 2005-2006. He is the community minister for religion and public life at the Church of the Larger Fellowship, and author of Cultivating Empathy.
Summer Services at CUUC
Led by members, friends, and guest ministers, summer Sundays are intimate and informal, so people have more opportunities to participate and grow closer. Worship is at 10:00am (centering music begins at 9:50am). The nursery is staffed for young children. After worship we have time for conversation and community, with light refreshments available at our self-serve table. Regular services and religious education classes start again on Sun Sep 8. Hope to see you here this summer! See 2019 speakers and themes HERE.
Bike Wanted
Hearts and Homes for Refugees is looking for a bike for a recently arrived refugee family that loves to ride. We have received donated bikes for the children, and now need a bike for dad so he can ride with them. They came to the U.S. this past winter after the father had worked for the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. Won't you help the family get out and enjoy themselves on their bikes this summer? Contact

From Environmental Practices
If you're looking for summer reading, consider five sustainability-focused books recommended by the New York League of Conservation Voters. The list includes this year's Pulitzer Prize winning novel, a collection of essays that each deal with the inter-connectedness of nature, and a biography about an environmentalist whose life spanned the 18th to 19th centuries. See the complete list and more detailed descriptions HERE.
