Practice of the Week. Love Your Inner Child. If you are embarrassed, ashamed, critical, controlling, squelching, pushy, or angry about this child, that will affect how you feel and how you act. Therefore, accepting the child parts within you, guiding them gently, and soaking your inner kid in cherishing nurturance will heal and feed the deepest layers of your psyche. READ MORE

Share the Plate for June: Community Housing Innovations
To support CUUC's pledge to address economic inequity, half of June's non-pledge collection will go to Community Housing Innovations (CHI), , a provider of emergency, transitional, and permanent housing and support services. CHI finds shelter for 1,000 adults and children on an emergency basis every night. They also provide services such as foreclosure prevention, homebuyer financing, and budgeting. They even host holiday parties for children living in their shelter facilities. Last October Alexander Roberts, CHI's Executive Director, gave a talk at CUUC on the crisis in affordable Westchester housing, and he did not request or receive an honorarium. Let us show our appreciation for his outreach and CHI's good works by donating generously.

Your Moment of Zen. Spring finally came, and Raven entertained her old teacher, Brown Bear Roshi, and invited her to speak. After the talk, Badger came forward and asked, "How can I get rid of my passions?" Brown Bear said, "What would you be without passions?" Badger said, "Maybe I should reword that. How can...READ MORE
