Upcoming Online Worship
Sun Nov 8, 10:00am ~ “What Does It Mean?”
~ Rev. Meredith Garmon

Election results might be clear by this Sunday. Who won? And what does it mean for us now? Or maybe the outcome will still be in doubt -- in which case, what does that mean? Let's reflect together on where we are -- and where we go from here.
Sun Nov 15 10:00am ~ “The Hope in Forgiveness”
~ Rev. Meredith Garmon

A lot of people on both sides of the recent election feel they've been done wrong. Gratitude practice is one way we heal. Forgiveness practice -- both giving and receiving -- is another. It's a spiritual discipline, and not a quick and easy fix.

I am selecting music for Sunday morning worship at a time of great incertitude and doubt. It is Wednesday evening, and the outcome of yesterday’s election remains unclear. Even when a winner is declared, the meaning of the 2020 election cycle will be debated for years to come. The music I choose reflects ambiguity and ambivalence... Read more HERE.

Annual Appeal

In November we make our once-a-year appeal for direct donations to the Ecumenical Emergency Food Pantry of White Plains. Since March 2020, the number of people served has soared to over 400 singles and families. It is estimated that one in five in our county are now nutrition insecure. The Pantry provides clients with bags of healthful food every week, including fresh vegetables, meat, and fish. Learn more HERE. Mail checks to CUUC with the memo “Food Pantry.” Or to pay online at cucwp.org, click the yellow Donate button, then "Use this donation for," select "Other," and type in the Note "Food Pantry." Note that a small percentage of online donations go to PayPal; you may increase your donation by a few dollars to compensate. Contact: John Cavallero (jcwpny@gmail.com)

Email Scams Continue

You may have received a fake email from “Rev Meredith Garmon,” Sender: “revgarmonmeredith@gmail.com,” Subject: “BLESSINGS,” with the message “...I need a favor from you.” Faith communities are frequent targets of scammers who pose as ministers or leadership to ask for gifts or money. Never hit Reply (it will go to the scammer). If you are in doubt, contact the sender you know directly using a trusted email, or message the office (admin@cucwp.org). Learn more HERE.
Caring & Sharing

If we can help you or someone you know in our congregation, reach out to Catherine Kortlandt (catherinekortlandt@gmail.com, 914-834-7112) or Julie Gans (julieagans@gmail.com, 914-937-7899). You may also contact the CUUC office (admin@cucwp.org).
Share the Plate for Nov: Ecumenical Food Pantry
This month we share half our non-pledge collection with the Ecumenical Emergency Food Pantry of White Plains. The Pantry was founded in 1979 by CUUC and four other congregations. Since March 2020, the Pantry has seen an emergency like never before. In addition to serving our neighbors who are poorest, the Pantry now serves folks who had been income secure until the Covid-19 economic disaster changed everything. Please join us in supporting this vital community organization. You may mail in your check with the memo "Food Pantry" or donate online at cucwp.org. Learn more HERE.
