2021 Jul 11 | Summer #3
Upcoming Online Worship
Sun Jul 11, 10:00am ~ “How to Be Agnostic, and Why
~ Rev. Meredith Garmon

Are you honoring or alienating people if you say “Latinx” instead of “Latino”? Some people are reclaiming, and identifying as, “fat,” so is it OK to describe someone that way? When and where should a cisgender person declare with what pronouns she or he prefers to be referred to? Are straight people a supportive or annoying presence at Pride events? Defund the Police? Some of us have definite opinions on some of these questions. Many of us aren't so sure. Many UUs are adept at being agnostic on religious questions. Those skills serve us well on a number of other questions as well.
Sun Jul 18, 10:00am ~ “Unlocking the Power of Covenant
~ Rev. Meredith Garmon

We Unitarian Universalists are bound together by covenant -- and not, as many faith traditions are, by a shared creed or canon. In these difficult times we struggle to face the legacy of white supremacy (within us and around us), environmental collapse, and vast economic inequity. A renewed embrace of our practice of covenant may offer the best path forward.
This Sunday's worship will be held in our Virtual Coffee Hour Zoom

Congregation & Community News
Worship in Coffee Hour Zoom

When we were meeting in person, our summer services were closer, more intimate gatherings. This week we will be doing something similar for our virtual worship. Instead of logging in to our worship webinar, everyone will gather in our coffee hour Zoom room, so we can see one another. Our microphones will continue to be muted during the service, like before, and we will still use the chat to communicate. Click here to login to worship.

Building Reopening

The Reopening Committee is hard at work planning for this fall, when we hope to come back to the building together in person, and we need YOU!!! We are looking for volunteers to help prepare the sanctuary and other areas, and to plan some special events and activities. We will need inventive ideas and a bit of elbow grease to create our "new normal" worship space and times together. Please reply today to Creighton (creighton.cray@gmail.com), Nicky K (nsklemens@gmail.com), or Chris F (force2k1@gmail.com). Join us in community all are welcome!
