Upcoming Online Worship
Sun Jun 6, 10:00am ~ “Learning and Growing During Times of Uncertainty
~ Tracy Breneman & the Religious Education Council

It has been a unique year for Religious Education, one that demanded new approaches and flexible planning to respond to shifting needs and circumstances. We will celebrate our accomplishments, honor our volunteers and Bridging youth, and take an optimistic look at the year ahead.

Our Annual Meeting will be held directly after the service this Sunday. Members, please plan to stay with us and attend.
We will not host our virtual coffee hour this week.

Caring for Our Grounds

PlaceKeeping Saturday, Sat Jun 5, around 9:00am, rain or shine
May’s enthusiastic plant growth has made our paths unsafe. Please join us - we need more hands to make this light work. Weed whackers welcome. We will also continue the care for our Memorial Garden area, and prepare our grounds for guests coming to hold a Summer Solstice Celebration on Sat Jun 19 (see below). Contact: Bice Wilson (bicewilson@gmail.com)
Take Us to the Top!

We're 92% of the way to our Giving Campaign goal! Over 102 families / individuals have pledged so far - please join them so we can close the gap before our Annual Meeting on Sunday!

Members of the CUUC community are welcome to join. Click here to read Bice's letter and learn more about the event. Can you come help us make our property ready and comfortable for our guests? Science & Spirituality

We meet on the second and fourth Thursday to discuss books and articles on the intersection of spirituality and science. Our next meeting will be our annual pot luck gathering. Contact: Barbara Mair (barbara.k.mair@icloud.com) to learn more.
A Second Look
At last Sunday’s service, our In the Spirit of Truth/Racial Justice team shared a video on the Tulsa Massacre, and Mary Cobb spoke of the remarkable life of Westchester resident Dr. Olivia Hooker, a survivor of that tragedy. For those who missed the service -- or would like to view it again -- click here to see the Tulsa video, produced by USA Today, and Mary Cobb’s tribute. Click here for Mary's written transcript
Celebrating the CUUC Choir
The Association for Unitarian Universalist Music Ministries (AUUMM) recently held a Virtual Choral Festival celebrating the work of member musicians and their congregations. For the UUA Central East Region, not one but two music videos from the CUUC Choir were shown (the only choir to be so honored)! Congratulations to Lisa Meyer, director, and Georgianna Pappas, accompanist, along with our wonderful singers, for their hard work and artistry. Click here to read a letter from choir director Lisa Meyer.
Where Else to Donate Books
We are repurposing the bookshelves in Fellowship Hall, so we will no longer accept used book donations for the “give one, take one” exchange (which saw a lot of “gives” and not enough “takes”). If you have old books that need new homes, check with local libraries, or organizations like Goodwill, Salvation Army, or GreenDrop that might accept donations. Or visit the Harrison Library West Harrison Branch and use the dropbox to donate to Better World Books
2021 UUA General Assembly
"Circle 'Round for Justice, Healing, Courage" Virtual UUA General Assembly, June 23-27
The annual General Assembly is where UUs worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy for the Association through democratic process. The 2021 GA will be 100% virtual, and the Ware Lecture this year will be delivered by Stacy Abrams and Desmond Meade. Anyone may attend; credentialed member delegates may vote. GA Registration is $200. Click here to register.
From Hunger and Homelessness

Opportunities for Giving
Help us help our neighbors in need by donating necessities and leaving them in the plastic bins outside the CUUC doors: socks & underwear; toiletries (soap, shampoo, lotion, etc.); and household cleaning products (laundry detergent, dish soap, cleaners, etc). We are also accepting arts and craft supplies such as crayons, markers, drawing pads, coloring books, glue, kid scissors, etc. Call Ray Messing at 914-592-4497 and leave a message so she can pick up and deliver our donations in a timely fashion.

Caring & Sharing

If we can help you or someone you know in our congregation, please reach out to our June primary caregivers: Robin Rocchi (917-656-6830, robinandal@verizon.net), or backup Janet Giewat (914-617-2137, bean1a2@aol.com). You may also contact the CUUC office (admin@cucwp.org).
June Share the Plate: Interfaith Council for New Americans of Westchester

This month we donate half our non-pledge collection to the Interfaith Council for New Americans of Westchester (ICNAW), a coalition of local congregations that welcomes refugees resettled into our area. ICNAW has provided financial and logistical support to three resettled families locally and hopes to welcome a fourth family this year. It is critical that all Afghans who worked for the US be granted their Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs) and be allowed to enter the US before the military withdraws by Sep 11. Learn more about the issue in this NBC New York report, or contact Robin Rocchi (robinandal@verizon.net) or Jane Dixon (lilrhodie@gmail.com). Mail checks to CUUC with the memo "Share the Plate - Refugees" or click here to pay online, and select "Share the Plate."
