The 21st Annual Paper & Substrate Show

We'll welcome the spirits of long lost sample books with an ofrenda (altar) that pays tribute to difficult task of selecting stock. We'll eat, drink and make memories to celebrate the wonderful cover, text, book, linen, vellum, felt and even smooth papers of our time. To set the spirited mood, the room will be decorated with calaveras de azúcar (sugar skulls), and of course paper picado (meticulously made paper art).
 
All that's left to prepare for your Día de los Papers celebration is to register now for PIASC's 21st Annual Paper & Substrate Show. From the latest substrates to the coolest samples, this is your chance to experience and share your life-affirming joy of paper.

PIASC Members Save 20% on Workplace Harassment Prevention Training
Last year Governor Brown signed SB 1343 into law. Starting in 2019, employers with just five or more employees must provide two hours of sexual harassment prevention training to supervisory employees, and one hour of this training for nonsupervisory employees, every two years by January 1, 2020 . The law will also apply to temporary and seasonal employees.

Postal Regulations That Trouble
Print Service Providers
Print service providers don’t always mail what they produce for their clients, but when they do, they must be clear about the rules and regulations administered by the U.S. Postal Service. Generating mailings (or even designing mailings) without considering the mailing requirements can blow the client’s budget, cause delivery delays, or depress campaign results. In severe cases the postal service might even reject the mail. Help clients get the most from their investments in printed and mailed communications and generate worry-free mail by being informed about mailing requirements.

Move Update
Move update is the USPS’ regulation aimed at decreasing the volume of mail that requires forwarding, disposal, or returning to the sender. Besides diminishing the ROI on a mailing campaign, undeliverable as addressed (UAA) mail increases expenses for the USPS and delays deliveries. Mailers have choices about how they go about conforming to the move update regulation. The Postal Service approves of three methods:
