3 Things That Will Boost Your Team's Communication
Most full-time workers spend about 40 hours each week on the job, accounting for roughly 35 percent of their waking moments. That’s a huge emotional, physical and mental commitment. Accordingly, greater numbers of employees are seeking jobs at places where they can feel at home and forge real relationships. As a leader, you should keep this at the forefront of your mind.
Why? Last fall, Gallup reported that just  34 percent of U.S. workers  were engaged. While that figure is one of the highest reported engagement levels in Gallup’s history of tracking this metric, it’s not exactly a whopping percentage of the workforce - - especially when you consider how employee engagement impacts your bottom line.

In a study of almost  1.9 million employees , Gallup researchers found that engaged employees outperformed their unengaged counterparts in key performance areas such as customer ratings, productivity and profitability. In fact, according to the firm's State of the American Workplace Report, disengaged employees could be costing the U.S. between  $483 billion and $605 billion  in lost productivity every year.

Behavioral scientists have determined that the attention span of the average consumer is eight seconds. I put that in perspective this way: The attention span of a goldfish is nine seconds. The attention span of a horse is seven seconds. So we humans are somewhere between a fish and a horse. So, what does this mean for packaging today?

It means that brands have less time and more competition for our attention than ever before. Packaging has the power to engage consumers, launch brands, drive brand revenue and create memorable brand moments. I'd even go so far as to say that brands don’t exist without effective packaging or consumer engagement.

Sales growth is tedious and slow. The selling cycle in graphic arts is typically 3-6 months, so the work you do this fall won’t result in sales success until the winter of 2020 is over.
That being the case, it is important to concentrate sales efforts on repeatable applications, thus shortening the time between, “Hi, my name is…” and “Thank you for the order!” Focusing on a particular vertical market (banks, hospitals, hospitals, etc.) by becoming a subject matter expert requires knowing more than their print needs.
Sales people must delve into their business needs and come up with print solutions, thus avoiding the price objection entirely. This presentation covers eight of the top verticals and is a must for sales people and selling owners looking for significant sales growth.

Hourly Cost Rates are a critical element of estimating and understanding production costs, yet many companies don’t apply much rigor in the calculation and update of rates. In this session, we’ll look at this topic in detail and talk about best practices in the identification of cost and the allocation of indirect costs.
